It's the grand re-opening of the Channel 1 Showroom & Gallery in our new location at 1175 State St in New Haven. Channel 1 is also celebrating our 7 year anniversary with a day full of events so check the schedule carefully as not to miss out.

12-3pm: Channel 1 & Keys On Kites host a live mural installation during the Westville Art Walk in the Hallocks parking lot at the intersection of Fitch & Blake St. in New Haven.

4-8pm: Channel 1 is proud to present the opening of the first art exhibit in our new location (1175 State St. New Haven) featuring the works of two tremendously talented Connecticut painters: Ryan Christenson (RC Murals) & Jahmane (Jahmane Artz). This exhibit will be on display til July 8, 2012. Music provided by DJ Lokash of Basement Beats.

During the reception, Channel 1 will also debut our new media center. The media center is a joint collaboration between Perry Robertson, recipient of 4 National Emmy Awards, & our newly established after-school program. The objective of the program is to provide students and teachers working knowledge of creating content for any multi-media format. 6-10pm: Opening redception for "Stencil Wars, Rocko Strikes Back" at Keys On Kites. Rocko Gallipoli is another talented Connecticut artist that Channel 1 encourages you to support. For more info about his artwork checkout his Facebook page. Keys on Kites is located at 869 Whalley Av. in New Haven.

10pm-2am: Keys on Kites in association DJ Dooley-O and Channel 1 present a special edition of "Soulville" at @ New West Cafe 879 Whalley Ave New Haven CT. This is the OFFICIAL AFTER PARTY for the opening receptions of Rocko (Keys on Kites) and Ryan Christenson & Jahmane (Channel 1). This monthly party combines classic soul, hip hop, disco, and funk music with beer specials free hot wings for an enjoyable experience. DJ Dooley-O & special guest on the turntables.
